A veneer is a super-thin piece of porcelain that is bonded to the front of your natural tooth using safe adhesive technology. We recommend veneers for the upper front row of your teeth, and sometimes the lower.

Our veneers are custom made to suit the preferences of each patient, but we can help guide you with your decisions when it comes to the size, shape and colour. Veneers are often opted for over a crown because they are a less invasive procedure and can address a host of issues with your teeth:

An advantage to veneers is that after it is decided a veneer is a suitable option for you, it usually only takes a few appointments. Firstly, our dentist will take photos and a digital scan to create a blueprint which allows you to trial your new smile in the second visit. Once you are happy, we then remove a thin layer of enamel from the tooth and make an impression to create a mould so your permanent veneer can be made.

On the first visit of the actual preparation appointment, you will also be fitted with a temporary veneer and on the second visit, the temporary veneer is removed, and the new moulded veneer is set in its place.

It is worth noting that there are also some situations when veneers might not be right for you. If you grind your teeth, have large gaps or if your teeth are too crowded, a veneer might not be the best option.
