Hi, I’m Dr Rita Lai, your local dentist and proud to be able to offer you a range of professional services using the most advanced equipment right here in Varsity Lakes.
Why did I become a dentist? Well, dentistry is in my blood. My uncle is a dentist and I used to go to his office after school. Back then I didn’t know much about what dentistry meant aside from seeing my uncle with his patients, the relationship he had with them, and the chats they had as if they had been friends for years.
I have always loved working with people and being able to help others, so it was seeing the difference my uncle made for adults and children alike that made me think I wanted to be a dentist.
Since then, I’ve earned a degree in Biology and graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and a Graduate Diploma of Dentistry and have practiced at a number of highly regarded clinics.
Now I’ve decided to go out on my own, I want to create a space that can make a difference for anyone needing a dentist, a place that provides the best customer service and a place that uses advanced digital technologies, highest quality materials, with meticulous attention to detail.
More importantly, a place that cares about its patients as individuals in everything we do, as I believe people never forget a dentist who gives them a beautiful smile, and also won’t forget how we make them feel.
I strive to be gentle, thorough, and communicate openly to ensure that my patients understand their oral health. With a love of all aspects of general dentistry, I always emphasise the importance of preventative care.
Outside of work, I love taking my dog, named Frankenstein on adventures, enjoy doing Zumba, karate, and watching Netflix. You will usually find me at the local shops enjoying good food, catching up with friends, seeing the newest movies, or all of the above together.

Hi, I’m Dr Lee Erwin, and I enjoy providing comfortable, comprehensive dental treatment as part of the Soul Dental team.
I have been a dentist for almost twenty years, and one of my favourite parts is getting to know my patients and understanding their priorities, so that I can provide personalised care and create a welcoming, comfortable environment. I understand that the majority of people have anxiety around dental appointments, and I take the time to help my patients feel at ease and listen to their concerns. I also thoroughly enjoy seeing families and making dental appointments a fun experience for children. I have a strong focus on prevention and empowering my patients to be able to work towards dental health.
I am well and truly a Gold Coast local, having grown up here. I enjoy the weather and being able to get outdoors all year round. I love both the beach and the bush, and take any chance I can to head off camping with my husband and children. My other favourite thing is watching the sunrise with a nice hot cup of tea – that little moment of quiet before a busy day!

Hi, my name’s Alana, and I’m a dental nurse here at Soul Dental. You can usually find me behind the reception desk, which means I’ll probably be the first smiling face you see when you walk into our Soul Dental clinic.
Here’s a little about me – I’ve worked in the dental industry for seven years and have a great understanding of general dentistry and the impacts of oral health on people’s overall well-being. I love working at Soul Dental because we have a great team of dental experts who sincerely care about their patients and their individual oral healthcare needs.
My superpower is in my innate ability to recognise when our patients might be feeling anxious or worried about their visit to the dentist. Not everyone looks forward to getting in the dental chair, but I assure you, there’s no need to be nervous. As a dental nurse, I am warm, compassionate, and promise to provide you with all the essential information that you need to help relieve any existing worries you may have. That’s what makes my day!
I also love to help our clients if they have kids. As a proud mother to a beautiful little boy, Danny, I am more than happy to ensure your munchkins are kept entertained and cared for during your appointment.
